March to End the War Economy

On Saturday, October 17, citizens from across Florida held a protest to “End the War Economy” in Orlando. The action was organized in response to the National Assembly Against the Occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan’s call for action and held in solidarity with actions taking place in more than 40 cities around the nation. Participants in the Orlando protest represented a variety of groups including Veterans for Peace, Codepink, World Can’t Wait, Patriots for Peace, Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign, and Humanists for Peace.

FUND HUMAN NEED, NOT WAR AND GREED: On Saturday, March 28 Patriots for Peace and Humanists for Peace led a mass march calling for a transformation of America ’s pro-war foreign policy away from militarism. The statewide mass march, endorsed by many Florida groups, was held in solidarity with national protests on March 21 in Washington DC (ANSWER Coalition) and on April 4 in New York City (United for Peace and Justice).

NO WAR WITH IRAN: On Saturday, August 30 at 2:00 PM, the grassroots group Patriots for Peace led a nonpartisan march from Front Street Park (2205 S. Front Street, Melbourne, FL 32935) to Melbourne City Hall (900 E. Strawbridge Ave., Melbourne, FL 32901) to demand Democrats and Republicans halt build-up for war against Iran.
